How We're Helping

Those with housing insecurity are often the most traumatized. With a focus on helping anyone in the cycle of trauma, we raise awareness of what trauma is. How it shows up IE. Substance use, physical pain, homelessness, incarceration. And how to heal it effectively. We partner with those who take a somatic approach to healing.  We require our residents to keep a job and integrate into a house schedule.  All things to help with success to living an independent life.  We also encourage each resident to answer the question of "why" they are reaching for a substance. And provide resources to help support their journey to healing.

Shiela's Story

Shiela is a survivor of severe early childhood trauma. She was born into domestic violence, substance abuse and mental illness. If it wasn't for her maternal grandparents, Shiela would have been in the Foster Care System, an addict, incarcerated or homeless (or a combo of all).  She was completely knocked down by a complex form of PTSD that surfaced after her grandmother's death.  After success in healing, she is determined to raise awareness on what is needed to truly heal trauma.  A safe place to lay your head is at the top of the list.
